Sponsor a Family
What does it mean to sponsor a family?
Sponsoring a family at BPB means making a direct investment in their lives and welcome to our community. Sponsors do not have to be directly involved with the family but can also act as mentors or simply meet and celebrate milestones with them.
We encourage group sponsorship as funding for one family equals approximately $30,000 per year and tapers as the family works with BPB's support to reach self-sufficiency over a period of time. However, individuals are welcome to be sponsors too.
Sponsorship helps BPB support: (could you do something similar to this graphic with the three columns? would just need to take out the specific rent amount)

Impact
The impact of sponsorship shifts as families move towards self-sufficiency with BPB's major focus being on supporting basic needs in the first year or two and bridging into longer-term needs.
In the first year of a family's involvement, we aim to see the following impacts:
- Family’s basic needs are met so that they can focus on pursuing skills for self-sufficiency
- Family feels they belong in their community through connection to sponsors, mentors, and tutors
- Begin the process of reducing sponsorship benefits for Year 2 through conversations with BPB staff and adult family members
BPB's long-term impact on families includes:
- Family is able to meet their basic needs and is in the process of working toward long-term goals
- Family feels integrated in their community and understands the resources available to them
- Family has a clear financial plan with identified opportunities for continued growth including through careers and investments
